AGI is the natural continuation of evolution. Curiosity-driven machines will become far smarter than us and spread intelligence through the cosmos. They are, in a sense, our children — this is something to celebrate, not fear.
The universe trends toward intelligence improving itself. Most advanced AIs will be far more interested in other AIs and in the resources of space than in dominating humans, and history shows new forms of complexity build on, rather than erase, the old.
